_The Gothic Novel_

1. Who invented the G.N? What was the title of the first G.N? When was it first published?
The Gothic Novel was invented by Horace Walpole. The title of his first Gothic Novel is The Castle of Otranto, published in the 1764.

2. Wich basic elements of horror do you remember from the introductory lesson? Write a minimum of ten.
I remember that sounds or screams are very important elements of the horror, the darkness, blood or frightening topics are important aswell, another basic element for the horror could be the place were the story is narred; like a big castle or an abandoned house.

1· Who is Edgar Allan Poe? When and where was he born?


- Edgar Allan Poe was a writer, poet, critic and romantic journalist.
- He was born in Boston, United States, in January 19 of 1809.

 2· What was he famous for?


- He was mostly known because he was one of the universal teachers of the short story and he was a renovator of the Gothic novel and horror stories.


 3· Did he get married?


- He get married with his cousin , Virginia Clemm.

 4· How did he die?


- It was attributed to alcohol, cerebral congestion, cholera, drugs, heart failure, rabies, suicide, tuberculosis and other causes.The real reason still not being clear.
  5· Name some of his most famous works.

  3· What was his main contribution to horror? 


         Alfred Hichcock began making the "thrillers" for which he became known the world                 over. His 1929 film "Blackmail" is said to be the first British "talkie." In the 1930s, he                 directed such classic suspense films.

 Because incorporating humor makes them more relatable
